Why We Made It

We designed this Heated Vest so hunters have multiple ways to stay warm on-stand without packing in heavy layers. The goal was to create a piece that adds heat without adding bulk, and also easy to control with bibs on. It’s comfortable enough to wear on every hunt, with heat ready when you need it. With a long battery runtime, it’s built for all-day sits.

The Science of Staying Warm

Human temperature regulation follows the core–shell model, where the body prioritizes keeping the core (head and torso) warm while allowing the extremities, the shell, to cool if necessary.

In cold environments, the brain rapidly reduces blood flow to the hands and feet through peripheral vasoconstriction to conserve heat for survival. This is why fingers and toes are especially vulnerable to getting cold.

Cold extremities are usually the result of insufficient insulation across the rest of the body, not just exposure at the hands or feet.

If the torso, arms, and legs are losing heat, the body further restricts blood flow to the shell, making even the warmest gloves and boots ineffective.

By contrast, when the entire body, especially the core, is well insulated, overall heat loss drops and warm blood continues to circulate to the extremities. This preserves dexterity, strength, and performance in the cold.

In practical terms, warm hands and feet start with full-body insulation. The body functions as a single thermal system, not isolated parts. To keep the extremities working, the whole body must be protected.
